BP and their partners are planning to bring cables from their wind farms on shore at Blackpool ripping a 100m wide cable corridor 30Km long across the WHOLE OF THE FYLDE, destroying more than 600 acres of greenbelt, farmland, and natural habitats, including two massive substations industrialising 90 acres of greenbelt and separation land (that’s almost 50 football pitches).

This will result in noise and dust pollution for up to 6 yrs. 24/7 buzzing from substations near schools, businesses and homes.

It will destroy wildlife habitats, cause flooding, ruin livelihoods, close businesses, and change the way we live.

  • Prime grade farmland ruined which will take 30 years to recover including permanent concrete structures in the land
  • Years of delays at Queesway due to the cable corridor

Ballam

  • 2 huge compounds, heavy machinery, drilling and dust pollution for Ballam residents and Farmers for 4-6 years
  • Thousands of tonnes of concrete set in already waterlogged land
  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover
  • Livelihoods ruined
  • Chaos around Peel Road and Ballam Road for years
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Lytham

  • 4-6 years of chaos making getting in and out of Lytham a nightmare
  • Tourism massively affected
  • Lytham Festival traffic disrupted for years
  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover
  • Business like caravan parks under huge threat with the 100m wide cable corridor running right next to them
  • Thousands of tonnes of concrete set in already waterlogged land which could result in flooding of Green Drive Golf Course
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Wrea Green

  • Huge increase in heavy goods vehicles running through the village
  • WGEC under huge threat of closure due to noise, pollution and EMF with the horses
  • Commuter traffic increasing as the cable corridor forces people to take alternative routes
  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover

Bryning

  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover
  • Caravan parks and local businesses put at risk due to 100m wide cable corridor, pollution and traffic control causing chaos
  • 2 huge compounds servicing the 4-6 year project with heavy machinery and materials
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Warton

  • Commuters to Warton adding hours onto their journeys into BAE Systems causing delays to projects of national security significance
  • Loss of farmland and increased flooding due to thousands of tonnes of concrete used to support the 100m wide cable corridor
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Freckleton

  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover
  • Greenbelt land destroyed
  • 3 huge compounds servicing the 4-6 year project with heavy machinery and materials
  • Huge increase in heavy goods vehicles running through the parish
  • One of the massive substations temporary and permanent constructions on its boundaries bringing noise, pollution, 24/7 buzzing near schools and homes
  • At least 30 years before any mitigation of the huge substation takes any effect
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Kirkham and Dowbridge

  • Huge increase in heavy goods vehicles running through the village
  • Loss of greenbelt and separation land
  • 2 huge compounds servicing the 4-6 year project with heavy machinery and materials
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required

Newton

  • 2 massive substations industrialising 50 football pitches size of greenbelt land
  • Farmland ruined which will take up to 30 years to recover
  • 2 biological heritage sites buried by the substations
  • Thousands of tonnes of concrete set in already waterlogged land which could result in flooding
  • 2 huge compounds servicing the 4-6 year project with heavy machinery and materials
  • Access roads to the 100m wide cable corridor from the village meaning increase in heavy goods vehicles running through Newton
  • Additional industrialisation from solar farm developments turning a rural area into an industrial zone
  • At least 30 years before any mitigation of the huge substations takes any effect
  • Construction 6 days a week, 7am – 6pm. With Sunday mornings where required
